Foamex board is a lightweight, rigid PVC foam sheet used for printed signage, point of sale displays and exhibition panels. We print custom foamex boards in 3mm, 5mm and 10mm thicknesses, cut to size up to 10ft x 5ft, with delivery across Ireland. The smooth, flat surface holds high-resolution colour, and the foam PVC core is water-resistant, making it suited to indoor and outdoor use.

Sizes and Thicknesses

Foamex is an expanded PVC rigid material with a smooth surface on both sides. It is waterproof, will not warp indoors or outdoors, and offers rigidity without excess weight.

We use UV digital printing directly onto the foamex surface, producing vibrant ink coverage with crisp text and consistent print results. UV inks resist fading, so your foamex printing stays sharp outdoors.

• Resolution: 150 DPI at actual size for large format, 300 DPI for A2 or smaller.
• Colour: CMYK for the closest brand colour match.
• Bleed: 3mm on all edges, text 5mm inside the trim line.

Is foamex the same as PVC foam board?

Yes. Foamex is a brand name commonly used for solid PVC foam board. Whether labelled foamex board, foam PVC, PVC board or expanded PVC, it is the same rigid material.

How long does a foamex board last outdoors?

Foamex PVC is water-resistant and weatherproof. With UV inks, printed boards typically look good for 1 to 3 years outdoors in Irish conditions, depending on exposure and mounting method.

What is the difference between foamex and foam board?

Foamex is rigid PVC. Standard foam board (foamcore) has a polystyrene foam core with paper facings that dents easily and absorbs moisture, so it only suits short-term indoor display. Foamex offers greater durability for signage.

Can foamex boards be drilled or contour cut?

Yes. We can drill holes for wall mounting, round corners or produce contour-cut shapes. The material cuts cleanly without splintering.

Which thickness works best for point of sale displays?

3mm is usually enough for wall-mounted or countertop displays. Choose 5mm for freestanding signs and 10mm for larger panels that curve slightly or resist repeated handling.
