Digital Printing in Ireland

Printroom is a large-format digital print company. We print banners, signs, rigid boards, fabric displays, flags and event branding in-house at our premises in Kilcoole, Co. Wicklow, for businesses, marketing teams and event organisers in Dublin and across Ireland. Because we do the work ourselves, one team checks your artwork, prints it, finishes it and sends it out. That one team brings over 20 years' experience in large-format print and display to every order.

Digital printing means we print straight from your digital file, with no plates or screens to set up first. That makes a single banner as practical to produce as fifty, and it lets us print at almost any size. For the full comparison with older methods, read our guide to screen printing vs digital printing.

What we print digitally in-house

Every product below is printed in Kilcoole. The print process follows the material, so the first thing we'll ask is where your piece is going to be used.

If you're unsure which to choose, start with where it will hang. If it's going on scaffolding or a fence in an exposed spot, we'd go with mesh, because the wind passes through it rather than pulling on the eyelets. For a hotel foyer or an exhibition hall, fabric gives a crease-free finish and packs down small. Our overview of banner types and uses goes into more detail, and our business signs page covers permanent signage.

Sizes, materials and finishes

Banners print at any size, landscape or portrait, and mesh runs long enough for scaffolding (a 2m x 15m scaffold banner, for example). Heras fencing covers come in 1780mm x 3370mm to fit standard panels, and crash barrier covers fit 2.3m and 2.5m barriers. Rigid boards go up to 10ft x 5ft (3048mm x 1524mm).

The finish depends on how the piece will be fixed. PVC banners come with eyelets as standard and hemmed edges, and we can add pole pockets for hanging banners. Diabond is laminated in matte or gloss. We drill boards where you want the fixings, and Foamex can have rounded corners or be contour cut. Flame-retardant mesh is available on request, which is worth asking about if a venue has rules on fire safety.

For a lower-impact order, the eco-friendly range includes PVC-free banners, eco pull up banners with a graphic made from recycled plastic bottles, rPET lanyards and eco zipper walls printed with water-based inks on OEKO-TEX certified fabric. Our guide to eco-friendly printing explains the trade-offs.

Turnaround and delivery

We produce and deliver most orders within a working week, and next-day delivery is available on many of them. We deliver nationwide by overnight courier. In the greater Dublin area, a premium same-day service is sometimes possible depending on the turnaround, so ask before you rely on it. You can also arrange to collect from Kilcoole.

If you have a fixed date, such as a stand build or a launch, tell us when you ask for a quote. We'll plan the job back from that date, which matters most for large trade show backdrops with several panels.

Artwork and ordering

Send your artwork to size as a high-resolution, print-ready PDF in CMYK, with fonts outlined, bleed included and text kept inside the safe area. We check every file before printing. If full bleed is new to you, ask our design team to set the file up. They can also design from your logo, text and brand colours. There may be a small charge for this, and we always quote before starting.

  1. Send us the product, size, quantity and delivery date for a quote.
  2. Send your artwork, or brief our design team.
  3. Approve the proof, and we print and deliver.
